The International Museum of Muslim Cultures is proud to have greeted many top officials, VIPs and local and national community members at the opening premiere of the Legacy of Timbuktu Exhibition. The evening was a very special one that brought together the wonderful steering team of the exhibitions, our volunteers, Executive Board and honored guests from around the world.
1) Abdel Kader Haidara, heir and director of the Mamma Haidara Memorial Library at Timbuktu, IMMC’s partner in Mali. He has over 10,000 manuscripts in his family’s collection, the largest collection in Mali. He, of course, was the guest of honor.
2) Abdel Kader with Hisham Syed in the atrium of the Museum. Hisham, is a co-chair on the Timbuktu Steering Team, and is currently the Director of IMMC’s affiliate at the Fort Worth Museum of Science & History in Texas.
3) Ambassador Abdoulaye Diop from Mali (former Ambassador now). He was our special guest speaker for the opening.
4) IMMC Co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Emad Al-Turk with former Jackson State University President Ronald Mason, a very good friend and patron of the IMMC and the Timbuktu Exhibition.
