Museum Entrance The façade of original home of the International Museum of Muslim Cultures is based on the Salon Rico or Rich Hall, presumed to be the main reception hall in the Madînat al-Zahrâ’, the palace of Caliph ’Abd ar-Rahmân III. It was built near Cordoba, Spain, between 953 and 957. The use of archways is an Islamic architectural contribution as is the use of ceramic tile.

The Gift Shop and Bookstore is open during the same hours as the Museum and will contain imported items of interest related to the Timbuktu and Moorish Spain exhibitions.

The IMMC offers personalized guided tours for adults and children with two weeks’ advance reservation. Please inquire about multilingual and special needs accommodations. Enrichment Activities: A wide range of educational programs, including teacher-training workshops, is offered for this exhibition. DIRECTION

Street Map of museum location The Museum is located at 201 E. Pascagoula Street in downtown Jackson, Mississippi. From Interstate 55, take the Pearl Street Exit (Exit 96A) into downtown Jackson. Turn left at Lamar Street. The Museum is located two blocks south at the northeast corner of Lamar and Pascagoula Streets.

PARKING

Metered parking is available on Lamar and Pascagoula Streets, and paid parking lots are adjacent to the building. Passenger drop-off and complimentary parking for tour and school buses is conveniently located behind the building on West Street.

TICKET INFORMATION

Prepaid Tickets can be purchased online. Just bring us a printout of your confirmation email to pickup tickets upon arrival at the museum. Or you can purchase them upon arrival at the museum. Group tickets are also avaiable through our online system or by contacting us at the museum at (601) 960-0440.
